Event Review Page

YEC,

So this past month I attended my first true youth event. I mean I have been to youth camps and other small events, but this was going to be my first time taking a youth group to a large event. I was excited from the moment that I was told about this event, I mean first of all the band Skillet was going to be performing, this was the 25th year anniversary of the event, and it promised to be a great time. Man I had no idea just how much of a good time this was going to be.

To start off with, I recieve a call the week prior to the event telling me that I had better hurry up and grab my tickets because the event was almost sold out. So I did get our 10 tickets for the event. We show up and link up with our friends from Unity Baptist church who we are going to be hanging out with for the event duration. Start eating our pizza and just waiting for the doors to open. Thats when I realize, there is going to be like 7000 kids here.

Ok this just got real. So we go into the arena and grab our seats and wait for the event to begin. First person in the hopper for the event is this illusionist. I started thinking "oh man, what is this going to entail", but to tell you the truth the dude was pretty cool and entertaining. Then out comes the worship band followed by our speaker for the evening (Clayton King). Here is where it gets a little tricky, I have never been to an evangelical event, so after listening to Clayton deliver an awesome message and offer his altar call, I notice that about 500 students have moved forward to the altar to make a decision for Christ. I mean WOW is all I could think.

Overall the preaching, worship, entertainment, and fellowship experienced at this event was just awesome and enlightening. I truly cannot wait until next years YEC.
